Devil John Moonshine is made in honor of the legendary Devil John, Civil War soldier, lawman & moonshiner from Kentucky. This small batch spirit looks back to a time when many a still ran in the hills of Kentucky to quench the thirst of men like Devil John and his crew. Devil John Moonshine is handcrafted by Barrel House Distilling Co. in building no. 9 at 90 proof with the highest quality and attention to detail.
Devil John Moonshine is the product of our Kentucky Heritage. Made from an old mountain "secret" recipe, we use cane sugar combined with just the right amount of milled corn to enhance the flavor while not overpowering the palate as some pure corn moonshines can do. Yet, without the corn, many sugar shines are left without enough flavor. The combination of corn and cane sugar allows for the best of both worlds - a pure, clean moonshine with a subtle sweetness, which is easy on the pipes as she goes down. Of course our pure mountain spring water lends the right finish to this rather sophisticated yet robust moonshine.
Given that Pete Wright is kin to the legendary Devil John, we took great care in creating a moonshine that was fitting of the honor of being named after the popular Kentucky folk hero. We'd like to think that Devil John and his posse would be proud.
Pour in devil john then orange juice and finally grenadine over crushed ice in a highball glass Garnish with a lime wedge and serve with straw.
Pour devil john in a chilled martini glass with ice, add vermouth, olive juice, stir. Add skewer of olives.
Pour devil john in a 4 oz glass over ice add a bit of crushed sea salt and a squeeze of lime.
Pour devil john, cranberry juice and grapefruit juice over ice in a higball glass.
Pour devil john over crushed ice in a cosmo glass, add triple sec and lemon twist, stir.
